It doesn't happen very often, but every now and then, an animal will go overlooked by adopters for a long period of time. In an effort to give these special animals a little boost and to encourage adopters to take a second look, we created this special adoption program. Once an animal is available for adoption for longer than expected*, he or she becomes a member of the Extended Stay Club.

Adopters will receive special support with the animal's adoption to help address any behavioral or physical needs that may have lead to their longer shelter stay. For example, adopters may receive complimentary vouchers for post-adoption obedience classes, private training sessions, veterinary care, or specialty food. The offer will differ depending on each individual animal's needs and all standard adoption policies and procedures will still apply. Information about each animal's Extended Stay Club perks will be included in his or her adoption bio.

*This time period may be different for each individual animal and is at the discretion of Cape Ann Animal Aid Adoption Counselors.
