SUMMER
ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2022
Bob and I are so fortunate to have Summer with us! When she first came she did not understand how to use the stairs and is still a little confused by all the big trees and noises that come from forest behind the back yard. I think she knows that the turkeys come from there and she is not sure about them. She did not know what the TV and the computer were and does watch TV, which is very funny. She is not a fan of the car which we think comes from whatever journey she was on before she came to NH. She loves to rip paper towels, loves to get into my yarn, and pulls on my clothes when she wants me to play. We have a lot of land and she has a very long rope. She runs like the wind and Bob takes her on walks and to run in a penned yard with another dog, She is in obedience school and will go to doggy daycare sometime soon just to play. We love her and she loves us. What could be better! The adoption process was fast and easy which we appreciated after many failed attempts to find a dog from other places. Thank you! -Catherine M. |
ADELINE (NOW OLIVE)
ADOPTED MARCH 2021
Upon meeting sweet Adeline (now Olive), my boyfriend and I immediately knew she was the perfect addition to our little family. She has adjusted so well to her new home and we are absolutely in love with her sweet predisposition and loving nature. We could not have asked for a better adoption process. Cape Ann Animal Aid made it such a great experience! -Allison S. |
HAYES (NOW KOBE)
ADOPTED AUGUST 2021
We are so grateful to Cape Ann Animal Aid for choosing us to be the new parents for Kobe (formerly Hayes). He is the sweetest and gentlest dog! He loves his 3 mile daily walks and playing with his toys. He brings so much joy into our lives and he is the perfect dog for us. Thank you, Cape Ann Animal Aid, for a wonderful match! -Debbie S. |
TOMMY
TRINKET & SHIRLEY (NOW MIA AND LIZA)
ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2022
Mia and Liza became best friends at Mia’s house in Gloucester. Liza is in Boston at her house most of the time, but they have play dates. Mia can’t get enough tummy rubs. Liza has an ambition to attend Berklee School of Music across the street to become a jazz singer. -Ichiko K. |
BOBO (NOW GEORGE)
ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2022
My boyfriend and I adopted Bobo this afternoon. We are in so much love. George is his new name. He has settled in just fine and is enjoying his new home and toys. We were home less than an hour and he went right into his cozy cage. This is going to be his happy space. -Kerry F. |
PENNY & SHELDON (NOW PURL & ZIGGY)
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2021
We are so happy to have our new furry family members! Penny and Sheldon (now Purl and Ziggy) settled in quickly and we have spent many hours over the last couple months playing and cuddling while the snow falls. We are so grateful Cape Ann Animal Aid gave us the opportunity to adopt these two very sweet and adventurous kitties. -Holly W. |
MASHA AND DUGGLE
ADOPTED MAY AND DECEMBER 2021
My family and I adopted two cats from Cape Ann Animal Aid. We have all fallen head over heels in love with both of them. Couldn't imagine not having them around. I have always been a dog person but came to the realization that I am just a pet person. Thank you for the ease of the adoption. I am probably going to adopt more cats. -Melissa R. |
MR. CARSON (NOW ARCHIE)
AU GRATIN & ALBERTO (NOW PEPPER & ALBERTO)
ADOPTED FALL 2021
After our last old cat passed away peacefully over the summer (at the ripe old age of 18), we waited a bit before looking to adopt a new cat. We fell in love with our shy little Au Gratin (now named Pepper) after a visit to the shelter in the fall and once she got settled we went back to get her a companion. Alberto immediately attached himself to my son and husband so we brought him home over the holidays. Pepper and Alberto are now the best of buddies. They spend much of the day watching the birds and squirrels through the bay window, chasing each other around and of course sleeping in patches of sunshine. -Jean S. |
AURORA (NOW SHADOW)
ADOPTED OCTOBER 2021
Shadow is an all gray adult female cat. She looks like a Russian Blue except that her eyes are yellow, and adult Russian Blues have green eyes! She is a sweet and playful cat and, like the description of the Russian Blue, is affectionate but not clingy. She immediately settled into her one-pet home here and enjoys being a lady of leisure. It took a while for her to get adjusted to eating the right amount of food for her weight, but once she felt comfortable with a schedule, she has done well. She loves to sit by my side when I am watching TV or reading. She also comes to find me for play time three times a day! I am a retired senior living alone, and she has brought a lot of love and amusement into my home. Thank you Cape Ann Animal Aid! -Mame M. |
RIGG (NOW PEPPER)
ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 2021
Love at first sight. My daughter, Lea, wanted a new kitten to join us for a few months and then accompany her to a new apartment in CT where she's attending grad school. She was a volunteer and she fell in love with Rigg the minute they met. Rigg, now Pepper, joined our family and made friends with our other cats who showed her how to be a cat for a few months. Now, she's on a new adventure with Lea at school. She's a wonderful cat and a great companion. -Cris P. |
POLLY (NOW GEORGIA)
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2021
We lost our beloved yellow lab July 30 and missed having a pet in our home. I knew when I saw Polly on Cape Ann Animal Aid's website, she was supposed to be ours, despite "being dog people". Polly, now Georgia, has brought so much happiness to our house! We love watching her run, play, sleep, purr, meow, eat, and explore...I think we might even be "cat people"! Thank you, CAAA, for caring for Georgia until she found us! We are in love! -Jen H. |
RYE
ADOPTED JULY 2018
I came in to meet Rye and as soon as I picked her up she snuggled into me and started purring. I knew she was the one for me. It was also very funny because she swatted at a different cat that was trying to get my attention since she already chose me. She was only the size of my hand when I adopted her and now she is nearly 4 years old! I adopted Rye as an Emotional Support Animal to help with my anxiety and she has brought so much joy into my life. She loves to play, cuddle, and most of all receive treats. I had quite a few cats growing up by Rye definitely has quirks I've never seen before. One of her favorite things to do is watch "Cat TV" (Youtube videos of birds and squirrels) and paw lightly at the screen. She loves to chatter at birds out the window as well. I am beyond honored to have become this little cutie's forever home. -Rachel R. |
BOUNTY (NOW TULSI)
ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2021
I had been thinking about adopting a cat for a year, but I visited CAAA the day after dreaming about finding a stray kitty who was "the one". Tulsi's persistent meowing swayed me to open his cage and pick him up. When I did, he immediately snuggled on my shoulder and began licking my ear. I hardly slept that night as I couldn't wait to see him again the next day. Tulsi is lucky to live in a house with 4 adults who snuggle and play with him. He loves being held, sleeping in the sink, climbing as high as he can, and playing fetch and chase with his felted balls. It is so special to get to know Tulsi, and I'm so grateful he was brought to CAAA. -Alli O. |
CHANDLER
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2021
I came to Cape Ann Animal Aid looking for a sweet kitten, and I got just that! Chandler is such a sweet little boy. He is very playful and does get into trouble but his snuggles totally make up for it. He sleeps draped across my neck too! He loves my 13-year-old cat Charlie. Chandler snuggles with Charlie, who doesn’t like it too much but he tolerates it! Haha! He is such a joy to have around; thank you so much! -Lisa M. |
CODY (NOW SEAMUS)
ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2021
We adopted Seamus two days after Thanksgiving having recently lost our beloved Lily a few weeks earlier. I'm happy to report that Seamus is a wonderful dog albeit a puppy so he is a handful but he is settling in with his new brother Wyatt (the Dachshund) who we rescued last April. They are best buds and I'm so glad they love each other. We love them both! -Robin S. |
MILO (NOW BIX)
ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2021
We adopted Bix (actually he adopted us the second we walked in the building) to help fill the void left behind when my 18 year old tabby JJ passed away. One of the best things that happened since Bix joined us is that after only 2 days he became inseparable with our young Siamese cat Lily, who had been missing JJ. They have developed an incredibly close Big Sister/Little Brother relationship—they romp and wrestle constantly, and then when they’re tired, nap together. The pics are of them, passed out together after playing soccer with an aluminum foil ball. -Matt L. |
CHESTNUT (NOW PERCY)
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2021
I had come in just to look, but Percy had other plans! His meow and insistence on a cuddle won me over. He is still a very vocal little lad! Percy loves to follow his human family around and is curious about his furry family members. He has filled the hole in our family very quickly! Thank you for such an easy process! -Sonja B. |
LACEY
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2021
Shortly before Thanksgiving, our beloved cat passed away from cancer. Our hearts were broken and our home was so empty. We saw beautiful Lacey on the Cape Ann Animal Aid website and knew she would be a wonderful girl for us. We spoke first with Emily and then FaceTimed with Mikayla who both made the introductions and application process so smooth. We knew when we saw Lacey licking Mikayla's hand she was a little love bug. Since we have adopted her, she has settled right in, lounging up against us on the couch, bed and her favorite chair; playing with her many toys; and bringing so much joy and happiness. She is mending our broken hearts. -Laurie W. |
