BANDIT (NOW TETE)
ADOPTED AUGUST 2023
I came looking for a kitten for my son. My son's other cats stay with his dad and he was so down. I took my son to Cape Ann Animal Aid and we looked around and Tete came right up to cage the second she saw my son. We knew this was our kitten. She is a very spunky loving cat that needs constant attention. She kisses you and will curl up with you for bed. She is such a welcomed part of our family. We love you Tete! -Nicole T. |
CLAUDE (NOW MARCO)
ADOPTED JULY 2023
I lost my beloved cat after 16 years and our house seemed so empty. I intended to adopt a youngish cat, but not a kitten! Well, I met an 8-10 week old kitten named Claude and that was that! Now called Marco, he is a very adventurous and typically naughty kitten who is about 5 months old and almost 8 pounds. He makes us laugh every day with his antics and we love his snuggles at night. Thank you CAAA for all you do. -Jen V. |
BEETLE
ADOPTED JUNE 2023
My fiancé and I came to Cape Ann Animal Aid with hopes in adopting a pup that needed a home, and we came home with so much more than that. Beetle boy has changed our lives and brings us so much joy everyday. He is goofy, clumsy, too smart for his own good, friendly, loves his naps, and is all around a delight to be around! We are lucky if we can find a toy he isn’t strong enough to destroy but that doesn’t stop us from spoiling our little boy. He is still navigating meeting new dogs and people but he doesn’t seem to have an angry bone in his body. He sure does have an anxious one though! We are working on getting him comfortable with the car and our new neighbors dogs but he is doing so well so far! He has learned and grown so much since June and we can’t wait to continue watching him grow. Beetle just turned 9 months today, and we couldn’t be happier with our little bug! -Tara G. |
LOUIS (NOW LOUIE)
ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2023
I had been looking around for a sibling to join my goldendoodle pup and stumbled across Louie by chance. Once I saw him on CAAA’s website I went to the facility and Louie came home that day. Now, Louie is the king of the castle, and demands belly rubs after getting tucked into my bed every night. -Caitlin W |
ROCKY ROAD (NOW SAMMY)
ADOPTED JANUARY 2023
We adopted Rocky Road (now renamed Sammy) in January 2023 to help with grief in the passing of our beloved dog. Sammy has been a great addition to our family; kind and sweet to everyone. Relentlessly friendly, he’ll kiss your face when given the chance. He loves romping in the backyard, especially with his best friend spaniel Ollie. Many thanks to all the staff at the shelter for bringing this 4-legged angel to us! -Tim C. |
MOLLY
ADOPTED AUGUST 2023
My boyfriend and I always knew we wanted a dog and were delighted when we came across Mollys picture on the Cape Ann Animal Aid website. She was the perfect size and had a great personality. This sassy lass has brought nothing but joy to our lives. She loves being the center of attention and gets jealous of my laptop when I have to do work. She loves belly scratches and chicken hearts. She is recovering from heart worm disease, and everyday I see her get a little more playful. She couldn't contain her excitement the first time she entered her new forever home. The picture attached was taken immediately after she learned she was allowed on the couch. She has wonderful manners and is treated like a princess. -Colleen C. |
ETTA & LOUIS (NOW PEPPER & BRUCE)
STEVIE (NOW RICKY)
ADOPTED JUNE 2023
Ricky now has a best friend… a 2-year-old old Border Collie named Brody. They wrestle and play nonstop and find their way into mischief together! Ricky A.K.A. “murder muffin” loves to cuddle, make biscuits on his favorite blanket and be wherever the action is! They both follow their mom around the house wherever she goes. He has won over our hearts and taken over our house! -Nicole K. |
MILO
ADOPTED JULY 2023
He's doing great. He has settled in quickly and become more secure daily. My 9-year-old neighbor little girl loves to come over to walk him every day (in addition to the many, many walks he gets with me), and she and her parents LOVE to have Milo (and me...I think :)) come to visit when we're out strolling. This past week, though, was the first time since he's been part of the family that OTHER family (including two kids, ages 5 and 9) have come to visit...and stay IN my (and Milo's) house for a few days. I had him meet them outside before they came in with suitcases, etc., and then I had everybody take turns gently give him treats in the house. Anyway, as you can see from the photo, he and the kids didn't seem to have TOO much trouble acclimating to each other. Milo's a great dog and is going to have a great life. Thanks! -Bill M. |
ADAM (NOW MARTIN AKA MARTY MCFLY)
ADOPTED AUGUST 2023
I suddenly lost a six year old cat from heart disease. He had two holes in his heart and fluid in his lungs, and also around his lungs, hence congestive heart failure. I have always had three cats, and my 15-year-old and three-year-olds were missing a piece of their lives. So, I went up to Cape Ann Animal Aid and saw this beautiful little “cow cat” who just stole my heart. A snuggle, or a kiss, or a silly boy, and incredibly active! Simon, Henry, and Martin are fast, friends! Martin actually tires himself out I can’t tell you how much joy this little boy has brought to our home! Speaking Spanish to him the first week was what he really needed since he came from Puerto Rico… Now, he speaks our common language of love. -Betsy L. |
GIGI (NOW SHEBA)
ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2023
Hi there! Sheba here! I just wanted to share with you how much I love my forever home. I share the place with my parents and brother Stuart. We are best friends, and I can’t play and run around the yard with him enough. We are always together. Where you find one, you’ll find the other. But I am also a real lap dog and love to sit on my parent’s laps, and sometimes will just fall asleep. I love walks around the neighborhood and in the woods and getting treats. But dinner time is my favorite. I’ve been known to have tricks where I can leap into the air or walk around on my back legs while my dinner is being prepared. Anyway, I can’t imagine living anywhere else. My parents spoil me to death but that is probably because I am so cute. |
MIA
BROOKLING (NOW DAISY)
ADOPTED APRIL 2023
Our dog of 13.5 years had passed away in late February and our house felt so empty. We had gone to the shelter just to look. We were really thinking an older dog would work best for us but when we saw Daisy in the kennel with her sister we couldn’t resist their beautiful eyes. She’s a perfect fit for us and has brought so much joy to our home! She’s so smart and has the sweetest disposition! She’s been easy to train. She looks forward to her daily trail walks. She loves everyone she meets and is wonderful around children, other dogs, and seniors. She made fast friends with the other neighborhood dogs and kids and enjoys afternoon play sessions with them. She’s a delight and has made us so happy! Thank you Cape Ann Animal Aid! -Suzy G. |
LUCKY & TOAD
ADOPTED MAY 2023
[My son] Oliver, 8, had an instant connection with Lucky. He discovered that his brother Toad was in the same cage and up for adoption as well. He read the bios for each and gathered that Toad would be lonely without Lucky. He suggested we adopt both, which we did. Lucky needed zero seconds to adjust to being in his new home, while Toad hid in the corner for several days. Two months have passed and both are having a blast playing and goofing around (as 9 month old kittens do). Toad has become incredibly open to humans and his surroundings. Lucky is a little too playful at times and thinks anything moving (e.g., wiggling toes, a charging cable, etc) is fair game for a playful attack! Thank you Cape Ann Animal Aid. We love our cats. -Alex M. |
BLOT (NOW PHOENIX)
ADOPTED MARCH 2023
After the loss of my 8-year-old rescue dog to cancer, I was so heartbroken that I didn't think I would ever find pure love and joy in another animal. My mother urged me to look and so I went onto CAAA's website and I saw Phoenix (formerly Blot). I came to see him on 3 separate occasions in a couple day time frame and each time I did, he was always out with a staff member or a volunteer... I was told he was a favorite and I can see why. When I finally did get to meet him, I knew he was mine; I needed him as much as he needed me. He is so playful and sweet. He loves to cuddle at night. He has never met a person or another dog he didn't instantly love or want to play with-when he greets people he wraps his little paws around their arms to hold them close. He loves going to the beach although he is a little unsure of the waves still. His favorite place to walk is the boulevard because he can stop and greet everyone and lay down for belly rubs often. He was the perfect addition to my home and my heart. -Sarah M. |
CURRY (NOW TEMPEST)
ADOPTED JULY 2023
We originally went into Cape Ann Animal Aid to look for older dogs. None of them interacted with us or seemed interested. When we met this little girl it was clear we were going to be taking home a pup. Tempest is a very smart little girl. She is almost completely housebroken and started to house train after 4 days. She grabs everything in the yard, grass, rocks twigs and because of that I have to keep her on a leash until she learns not to pick stuff up. She's very excited when she knows that she is going to be going into her home. She recognizes her mom and dad and she knows that this is her house. She's doing well with riding in the car and the more she does it the more aware of her surrounding she is. She used to just lay down in the back seat now she's looking out the windows. Tempest is an absolute joy. -Salvatore B. |
CARMEN
ADOPTED APRIL 2023
Carmen has been with me over 2 months now. I am so HAPPY she decided to adopt me!! She is such a love. She has really opened up and such a joy. She loves to play with the string toys but nothing else. Not into cat nip but sometimes Silvervine. She sleeps near me touching me all night long. She now purrs loudly (did not purr before) when we are close. She now talks a lot when following me around. She is just starting to get comfortable letting me hold her. I wonder what her former life was like, didn't seem to want to play, talk or be close except at night. Looking forward to keeping her happy and busy. -John K. |
NOODLE (NOW DUNCAN)
ADOPTED MAY 2023
On May 13, 2023 after 17 years we had to let our cat Dublin cross the Rainbow Bridge. We were heartbroken. Then we saw Noodle on the CAAA page and he resembled our boy so much that we had to meet him! It was love at first sight; he came home with us that day, May 28th. We renamed him Duncan, and from that first night it was like he had always been here! He was the perfect birthday present for Gil! He’s such a good boy- he’ll follow us around and then just plop down for pets! We just love him! Thank you, Cape Ann Animal Aid! -Pat G. |
LITTLE MISS (NOW ROBIN)
We want to thank you all at CAAA, for your kindness when we adopted Robin. She has added such joy to our home. Recently we had beloved pets age out. The house was too quiet, and too empty. Robin has filled our home and hearts with her presence. She is boisterous, sweet, smart and very, very funny. -Laurie A.
