PRISSY (NOW ZIGGY)
WILDER (NOW MOCHI)
ADOPTED APRIL 2023
We brought home Wilder and he was immediately a fearless bundle of joy. He was an extremely playful cat, able to chase feather toys with endless energy, and after a couple rounds he was climbing all over us and purring. We had another cat (Thomas) adopted from Cape Ann Animal Aid that we had planned to do a slow introduction with, but after the first day they were already trying to play with each other by sticking their paws under the door. They immediately became fast friends, chasing each other around the house and taking naps together in the sun. Wilder is incredibly brave, exploring new parts of the house that it took Thomas months to muster up the courage to visit. We even tried introducing him to a large dog, and he was willing to come up and touch noses with him (props to the dog for staying calm). Overall we could not have asked for a better kitty. -Kris L. |
VINCEN (NOW VINNY)
ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2023
Vinny was an extremely shy and anxious puppy when we first met him, always wanting to run and find a place to hide. When he first got to our apartment he was very scared, not wanting to leave his crate or eat any of his food for a few days. He slowly started to come out of his crate here and there, but was still very scared of the outside world and strangers. We have had Vinny for 3 months now and I am so happy to say he has made major improvements and has really shown his true personality! He is such a sweet little guy, loves to play with his toys, loves going outside and going to the beach. I am so beyond happy and so grateful for CAAA for our Vinny boy! -Emma T. |
LILLY (NOW BOKA)
ADOPTED MAY 2023
Lilly/Boka is amazing! We lost our beloved family dog of eleven and a half years last summer and Boka has certainly helped to fill that void in our home and our hearts - we were all smitten with her instantly. Boka is the absolute sweetest pup who loves cuddles and belly rubs! Just seeing her laying on her dog bed doing absolutely nothing makes me so happy! Boka is so smart! In the last week, she has learned her name, how to sit, how to go up and down stairs, where to potty in the back yard, and how to better follow a meal schedule. We are still working on cuing to go outside when needed and going in and out of the house through the garage door; she is afraid of the noise it makes and I can't say that I blame her. Puppy classes, her first vet appointment, and the opportunity to socialize with other dogs are in Boka's near future. I can't thank the staff at Cape Ann Animal Aid enough! We were so impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness of staff. Thank you to all who had a hand in keeping Boka safe and well cared for until we adopted her! -Patty D. |
COOPER
ADOPTED MAY 2023
Being a senior, I have no wish to have my pet end up in a shelter. That’s what happened to Cooper. Poor Cooper was much neglected from both the illness and the death of his owner. His fur was all matted, to an extent that he needed shaving. When I first brought him home, he hid under my bed but soon he began exploring my apartment and in fact, slept in my bed that night. With hope for all adoptions. -Ruth Ann B. |
CARLY
ADOPTED JANUARY 2023
We met Carly on a cold winter's night and immediately fell in love with this energetic and loving good girl. She instantly bonded with our older (and, thankfully, wiser) rescue Rosie and since she's come home with us these two ladies have been inseparable---and Carly has probably added years to Rosie's life. Praise Be to CAAA for bringing Carly North and for allowing us to bring her to her forever home. -Kathryn B. |
PENNY
ADOPTED APRIL 2023
In 2 short weeks, Penny has made herself right at home and we could not be happier with her. She loves meeting new people, and gets excited when the cats watch her from a high distance (LOL). She has a great temperament, she is content playing in the backyard with her toys or snoozing on the couch. She's a cuddle bug! She is the perfect addition to our family, and can't wait to watch her grow. -Catia S. |
SCAMP (NOW OLIVER TWIST AKA OLLIE)
JASMINE (NOW LULU)
ADOPTED APRIL 2023
We sadly lost our cat back in December and knew we were missing a member of our family. We were blessed to find Lulu who has been a wonderful addition to our family. She is playful, silly and has a lot of spunk. She loves to cuddle when she’s tired and is making friends with her dog siblings Stella and Batman. |
GONDOLA (NOW ATHENA)
ADOPTED APRIL 2022
Last year we adopted Athena, but she was not our first choice. The staff at Cape Ann Animal Aid helped to match us with our fuzzy lady and our family has been blessed by her silliness, her beauty and her meows for snacks for a whole year. The staff was so helpful and friendly. We are grateful because Athena Banana was meant for us. -Carol S. |
GISEL (NOW SLINKY)
ADOPTED MARCH 2023
We adopted Slinky almost 3 weeks ago. She is such a joy to have in our home. She is still a little shy but is exploring more and more each day. She is very playful. She enjoys wand toys with bells and loves her mice. She will even fetch them most times and bring them back to play. She even likes the laser pointer. She has a safe spot under my bed but most times she will come out when I call her. Since day one she has eaten, drank water and used her litter box. She also enjoys treats. We are eventually hoping she will like to be held but we will not push her. Baby steps. She is making progress. She also loves her belly rubbed. She is a joy. We named her Slinky because she is long and slinks around quietly. -Lisa P. |
SNOWBALL
TEDDY 2 (NOW OSCAR)
ADOPTED MARCH 2023
"I want a puppy so bad" had become a frequent phrase of mine, but I always knew that it most likely wouldn't happen. My fiancé and I didn't think we would have the time and it wouldn't be fair to the pup. However, he would check CAAA's website weekly and I would ask why he is torturing himself and he would always say "because maybe one time I will finally see a dog that I really love." One Thursday night, he saw Teddy 2 (now Oscar) on the website and we both fell in love, but kind of brushed it off. The following Wednesday, he told me he went to meet the pup because it turned out that a woman we knew was fostering him. Long story short, the next night, we picked him up and it has been the best decision we ever made. Oscar acclimated very well and quickly to his new owners/home, he absolutely loves to cuddle, and is a fast learner. Oscar loves to go for walks (although most of the time he just stops, sits, and takes it all in). He is our love bug and we love him so much! Thank you CAAA for giving us the best gift. -Alessandra R. |
KINDER (NOW BEANS)
ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2023
I had to put down my little Sato dog Dakota suddenly while I was in the rehab hospital recovering from paralysis in 2021. I never got to say goodbye to her in person, and it was a devastating day and time in my life. Now, I’m able to walk with a walking stick and hopefully soon on my own. It has been a long road back, and along the way I met Beans on a beautiful day in February. I knew he hooked me! He’s a Sato pup just like my dog Dakota. You would never know he was a street dog- no separation anxiety, no fear of people etc. He’s full of beans... mischief, love, friendliness, energy, and life! He has settled into his new digs and made friends with buddies at doggie daycare. He’s ready for new adventures to come! -Emily R. |
PONGO (NOW RICCO)
ADOPTED MARCH 2023
When we adopted Ricco, we had no idea what a blessing he would turn out to be. Four days after his adoption, we found out that our Jack Russell of 12 years had a very aggressive form of sarcoma. We lost him 2 days after we found out. One week after that, we lost a very dear friend unexpectedly. It has been a very tumultuous couple of weeks and this wonderful dog has brought us so much joy despite all the sadness and loss we have experienced. He is such a love and has such an incredible personality. Thank you so much Cape Ann Animal Aid for helping to bring this boy into our lives! -Deven/Jessica/Jaclyn L. |
KIP & LAWFANDUH (NOW JOE & MISTY)
ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2022
Misty and Joe were feral cats rescued in Chelsea, they were very shy and not that into human touch, although they loved food and a warm place to be. They have come a long way over the year. They love their humans and animal friends, now. It’s been a pleasure watching them learn to trust and unwind. Joe who is a large male cat was a bit fierce for awhile, now the most sensitive of the bunch. Misty is a sweet, gentle, cuddle bug. It took her a year to seek a lap on the couch to curl up on. Joe has the funniest way and enjoys lots of love and patting, hoping someday he will sit with us as well. For now he will seek us out for lots of patting and love. -Dana S. |
BALTO (NOW CHEWIE)
WHISKEY (NOW BOSCO)
ADOPTED MARCH 2023
We adopted a sweet little puppy from you guys 4 years ago to keep our Great Dane, Blue, company after his housemate (our bulldog) passed away. We named her Brandy and she was a great friend to Blue and a welcome addition to our family. Blue passed away a few months ago and we decided to bring in a new addition from Cape Ann Animal Aid, to keep her company and for our family to embrace and care for another rescue dog in need of love and a home. We adopted Whiskey a couple of weeks ago and renamed him Bosco! As all of our pooches always have a “B” name and Bosco just seemed to fit him. He is a love and we are truly thankful to have him. Cape Ann Animal Aid is a wonderful place and we are happy to be a part of your extended family. Thank you for all you do! -Brian & Dawn P. |
DEAN (NOW BINX LIONHEART AKA BINX, BONX, BINXIE)
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2022
We have a wonderful cat Pumpkin Pie. We decided she needed a friend, so we went looking online for a cat that would be a good fit. We found Dean and he did not disappoint. He was initially a little skittish in his cage, but once he felt more comfortable he was so sweet, meowing and rubbing against us! We brought him home and renamed him Binx and he has only gotten sweeter. Binx sleeps in my daughter's bed or in my arms every night. He’s the best fit for our family and has brought us so much joy. He even lets me clip his nails and put a leash on him when we head outside with no problem! If you’re thinking of adopting just know that the unconditional love of a pet in need is beyond rewarding. It’s teaching my kids compassion and responsibility, and they love to play with Binx. Pumpkin is taking her time accepting an exuberant spunky kitten as she’s a dainty older lady that prefers calm and order. But Binx follows her wherever she goes and they are getting closer everyday. I can’t wait to make Binx a certified therapy cat (I’m a therapist) since he has the patience of Buddha and tolerates my 3 year old crazy son better than I do! It’s been such a blessing and a joy to add Binx Lionheart to our family. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers at the shelter that do such valuable and hard work. We never would’ve found Binx without you! -Caitlin K. |
BEETLE AND BAYA (NOW BEETLE AND ONYX)
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2022
In November 2022 we had to say goodbye to our 12 year old Fur baby Mittens! This ended up devastating me. Dec. 2022 my husband found this beautiful black bonded 8-month-old brother and sister at your shelter. Knowing that in advance that they were born with an auto immune deficiency and their beautiful teeth would need to be removed to promote good health! We adopted them. In 3 months, they have both healed from teeth removal! These are the most loving, smart beautiful fur babies we have ever had! Thank you so much. -Valerie C. |
PRIMROSE (NOW ROSE)
ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2023
Hi just wanted to send you a little update on Primrose, or just Rose as we call her. She is a super sweet, smart puppy that loves everyone she meets. She had fun going to the park and watching all the activity and even made a dog friend her first day there. At home she loves to lay in the sun, munch on frozen carrots and watch the birds and squirrels. Rose can be a little sassy and when she's done hanging with us - she'll put herself right to bed in her crate. Rose loves her Kong and she mastered a food puzzle pretty quickly. She's picked up on potty training so fast and sits at the door to let us know when it's time to go. Thank you CAAA for bringing Rose into our life, she has stolen our hearts and is the perfect addition to our family. -Meghan and Kevin p.s. you all took amazing care of her, she had her first vet visit today, not scared at all and she left with her head high and her tail wagging! |
MARABELLA AND RAYA
ADOPTED JANUARY 2023
We adopted Potato (formerly Raya) at the end of January. While adopting her we also met Marabella ,who kept meowing at us, but she was pending adoption. A week later, Marabella became available for adoption and we brought her home. Potato and Marabella bonded right away. They love chasing each other around, wrestling, sitting in the sun watching the birds, grooming each other, and snuggling up together. They are so friendly and snuggly with us and visitors of all ages. When they see us they greet us with a cute meow, usually in unison. We are so happy to have Potato and Marabella be part of our family. They have already brought us so much joy. -Suzanne D. |
