SIERRA
APRIL (NOW RAYN)
ADOPTED JANUARY 2023
I adopted Rayn as a companion for my 21 month old son. Since she has been here, they have bonded and spend most of their time together. They have both grown and matured in the last month. Rayn has become the missing piece in our little family. She is great with both boys, other than stealing the baby's pacifier and bottles. She is getting better at that though. She is a serious snuggle bug, and spends the night switching from next to me to next to her best bud. Everyone thought I was crazy to bring a 3 month old puppy into the house with a 21 and 3 month old, but, as tough as it can sometimes be, bringing her home has been the best decision. We all fell in love with her instantly, and are looking forward to many years with her in her forever home. Thank you for giving us this opportunity. -Debbi S. |
LENA (NOW NALA)
ADOPTED JANUARY 2023
Lena (or we now call her Nala, or vanala bean) has been with us for almost a month now. She is settling in very nicely and is becoming an awesome pack member. She and her brother (also adopted from CAAA in 2017) get along like they have always been best friends. They are a perfect match together. Nala loves to snuggle and go for long walks. Her trust in us has improved so so much, and we couldn’t be happier! |
CRAIG AND CONNERY (NOW SAL AND ENZO)
ADOPTED JANUARY 2023
These two brothers love each other so much. When they’re not playing and roughhousing together, they are snuggling together. They definitely are bosses at our house. They have us wrapped around their little (or in Enzo’s case, his BIG) paws. They are so loving and playful. They are not timid at all. We are so happy to have Salvatore “Sal” and Lorenzo “Enzo” in our family. We love them so much! -Lynne B. |
ERICA (NOW POPPY)
ADOPTED JANUARY 2023
Since getting Poppy, we have watched her develop into a sweet, curious, affectionate cat. With having her for a little time now she has definitely shown us love and compassion. She loves to play with her toy balls and cuddle up next you to watch a movie. She often finds herself by the warm pellet stove most evenings. We are so thankful for Cape Ann Animal Aid for connecting us with Poppy. -Kayla R. |
CANELA (NOW SOPHIE)
ADOPTED AUGUST 2022
Next week will mark the 6 month anniversary of adopting Sophie, and I cannot imagine life without her. She was 1-1/2 when adopted and I was told that she had already had a litter of kittens. In spite of her beginnings, she is a very happy, snuggly cat. She is a Tortoiseshell and of the 20 cats that I have had throughout my life, I believe she is the most funny and crazy them all. I now know what Tortitude means. She is always running, playing and getting into things she shouldn't. The house has been made Torti Proof. She is kind of like a dog where she is always in the same room as me and I just love that! She has also given new life to my 14 year old cat, Jaffa. She is such a joy to have! Thanks to the folks at CAAA for taking care of her until she and I were able to meet. -Kim R. |
GUS GUS (NOW TIN MAN)
ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2022
Gus-Gus was super shy at first. We couldn’t find him the first morning after bringing him home because he was hovering in a dark corner for hours. It took a while, but he’s finally come out of his shell and we are enjoying his fun-loving personality. He loves lounging about, staring at the fireplace and watching the birds from his cat tower by the window. We’ve given him a couple of nicknames; The Tin Man and Sir Squeaky Quinsigamond because his meow is more of a squeak. After saying good-bye to our cat of 18 years, we weren’t quite used to kitten energy, but have come to absolutely love this crazy, energetic little dude. Thank you CAAA for what you do! -Jane A. |
CARSON
ADOPTED JANUARY 2023
Carson has settled into his new home so well! He was shy at first, but quickly came out of his shell. Now his favorite things are playing fetch with his toys and getting lots of belly rubs. He is very affectionate and a great snuggler. I am so glad we found each other! -Kayla D. |
CHICKPEA AND BLACK BEAN (NOW KILO AND POE)
ADOPTED AUGUST 2022
My family has always had cats and they have always been a part of our lives. When these two kittens went up for adoption my brother Tom and I adopted the siblings. It was perfect. Even though they live apart since my apartment is in Boston, they have become true friends over the past two holidays when I came home. Kilo (a.k.a. Kiki, shorthair) is my cat and she's so curious, sweet, funny, and confident. Poe is (long hair) Tom's cat and he is super energetic, loud, fluffy, and loves to play fight with Kiki. They have such different personalities and it's so sweet how well they get along. I am a powerlifter and live with my teammates, so Kilo is a shoutout to the weights we lift and what brought us all together :) Poe is named after the panda in Kung Fu Panda, one of Tom's favorite movies. They have brought so much love and joy into our lives. Thank you for all you did to get them to us! We love them so much! -Lauren F. |
TANK / TANKY
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2022
Tank came into our home as an 11 month old boxer/pitbull terrier mix. We have two existing dogs, one who came from Cape Ann Animal Aid four years ago, as well as three children and a horse off property. Tank's name is perfect. He’s a tank of love, and sometimes a freight train tank. We had a difficult adjustment. I won’t hide the fact we had to reach out a number of times for behavioral help between the two male dogs. I’m happy to say the tank was the addition to the family we have been waiting and hoping for, although we didn’t know we needed a third dog. I can’t ever imagine our lives without him, and although we are his second adopters in life, he will never go anywhere. With us, I couldn’t imagine life without him. He is a wonderful fit with a lot of work, and I am grateful to the Cape Ann Animal Aid for both my boys. -Molly K. |
CHANDLER AND PUFF (NOW ARCHIE)
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2021 AND DECEMBER 2022
In September 2021, I had to put down my 12 year old cat. Then in December that year I decided it was time to get another cat. I walked into the shelter and found Chandler and immediately fell in love. He is such a sweet boy who loves to play and is also such a great snuggler! Then in October 2022 I had to put down my 14 year old cat. I was thinking about getting another but needed a little time. So, in December 2022 I saw Archie (formerly Puff) on the website and again fell in love. I met him the next day and knew he was coming home with me. The introduction between Chandler and Archie was a little rough, but once Chandler got the hang of being a big brother he totally accepted him! Archie is such a sweet boy too. They both love to play together, and sleep together! I have always wanted cats that love each other and lay together! They are the best of friends now and I think i made the right choice to get a little brother for Chandler. I literally can’t thank the Cape Ann Animal Aid enough for these two! -Lisa M. |
INKY
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2022
Inky is amazing!!! She is so sweet. She is super smart. She already sits and gives high fives! She loves to play and loves to run. She loves to wiggle around and get attention. I bought a K9 backpack to take her everywhere in case she gets tired. She loves it. I want to thank you guys for giving us our baby! -George D. |
BELLA
ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2022
When we came in to meet Bella there was an instant connection, we have two young boys one of which is often afraid of dogs and even he loved her right away. None of us wanted to leave without her and took her home that night. The last month with her has been so much fun. She’s warmed up so well to the whole family, and she’s had many puppy playdates with relatives dogs. She is so sweet and snuggly, she loves running around, playing fetch and chewing on anything she can find. She’s the perfect addition to our family and we couldn’t be happier! -Ashley S. |
SNAPDRAGON AND MINION
ADOPTED AUGUST 2022
I had a near death experience and spent 9 days in the hospital. I was unconscious for three days and when I woke up I had this feeling that I needed to adopt an animal to love and give me purpose. I am 74 and my husband is 77. I thought I wanted a puppy but my granddaughter convinced us it would be two much work where we live in a townhouse and don’t have a yard. So my search was on for two kittens. I searched for weeks and then I found Snappy and Minion, two bonded kittens that came from Puerto Rico. My husband and I went to meet them and it was love at first sight. I feel like God sent them to us. -Linda L. |
BALTHAZAR (NOW BRUIN)
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2022
About four years ago, we adopted sibling sister kittens from CAAA. We decided recently it was time to add a third. We adopted Balthazar (now Bruin) and couldn’t be happier. He’s a bundle of purrs and joy… and while his sister kitties are still getting used to his arrival, they’ve come a long way in the week that we’ve had him. The three of them chase each other through their play tunnel and take cat naps in their individual pet beds. He’s living up to his name — he loves watching the Bruins play on TV! We’re looking forward to watching him grow! -Kim P. |
HAMLET (NOW LOUIE)
LEIA (NOW PIPER)
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2022
Piper seems to have already adjusted to her new home! She loves running in the backyard, finding new sticks, looking out the window (especially at our bird feeder) and playing with all of her toys. She likes more challenging toys that result in a yummy treat! Piper never misses out on an opportunity to snuggle and we love having her cozied up between us on the couch. Piper has been a great addition to our family and we love having her. Thank you for making this adoption possible! -Julia B. |
KELLY (NOW CALLIE)
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2022
I adopted Kelly one week ago today. I wanted a companion for my seven-year-old lab mix, Jack. I adopted Jack seven years ago. Callie has become part of our family. And is doing very well. Jack is a saint as he lets her crawl all over him. I am so happy that I made this adoption happen. I am sending a photo so that you can see that she has a nice new home and his love very much! -Faye K. |
TURNIP
ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2022
Dear CAAA, I adopted Turnip one month ago, just would like to share an update with you. We kept his name as Turnip because it's too cute. He is doing well at home, got vaccinated and checked up. He is playful, still trying to get along with my other cat. Hopefully they will play with each other soon! He is friendly and has good behavior. We wish everyone peace, happiness, health and a wonderful holiday! Thank you for letting me bring Turnip home. -Lin Z. |
BABY AND ROBIN (NOW MOXXI AND ROBIN)
ADOPTED AUGUST 2020 AND NOVEMBER 2022
We adopted Moxxi, formerly known as Baby, back during COVID times on 8/1/20 and shes been amazing, so great we thought she would enjoy a sister and she got one! We adopted Robin on 11/5/22 and they have been best buds since. Robin saw snow for the first time a few days ago and Moxxi has been showing her the ropes how to play in it. Since we love the bruins we also got them their own jersey's, as well as Christmas pj's and they got to meet Santa! Moxxi already graduated from puppy training but Robin is currently in it. Both are doing great and they always look forward to our weekend trips for different places to walk and socialize with others. Thank you guys for all you do and we wish you a happy holiday! -Leah H. |
CAM (NOW LUCY)
ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2022
We had to put our beloved Tessie to sleep in February. She was 14 years old and a wonderful companion. Not long after, we adopted Leo from another shelter. He was 6 months old when we brought him home. Then we thought it would be nice for Leo to have a companion. So we adopted Cam, now Lucy. She and Leo get along wonderfully and we love them so much. They have made our lives so very joyful. We cannot thank Cape Ann Animal Aid enough for letting us bring Lucy into our lives. -Kristen P. |
SALAD (NOW PEPPER)
ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 2022
We adopted our kitten, Pepper, a few months ago and now we can’t imagine life without her! She is sassy and snuggly. She absolutely loves Christmas bows, so much so that we find them all around the house! She makes everyone in the house laugh and smile with her big personality. She eats like a champ and is already getting so big! Adopting from Cape Ann Animal Aid was one of the best decisions we could have made! -Rachel M. |
PINA (NOW MAISY MAE)
ADOPTED MAY 2021
When we lost our 12 year old lab due to aggressive tumors I was lost. My daughters were moving onto adulthood and empty nest was a real thing! I searched for a dog like Maisy Mae for weeks! I saw her and fell in love immediately. She is one of the best dogs, and was so easily trainable. She loves to swim, take car rides, and be with mom and dad. Maisy has been a such a blessing! She is now about a year and a half, and is coming into her teens. She has a personality that fits a preteen (testing us!) but continues to listen (eventually-even when she is being stubborn). She sleeps with us every night, and is a true cuddle bug. We hired a personal trainer, who couldn't believe her motivation to please and how incredibly smart she is. I couldn't love her more. I feel so fortunate for Cape Ann Animal Aid, the adoption process was smooth and I could tell how much they love and cared for their animals. Maisy has been a such a blessing, as has CAAA. -Amy S. |
