SANDY MITCHELL CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
ABOUT SANDY MITCHELL
In 2009, the Board of Directors approved the creation of the “Sandy Mitchell Circle of Friends", a legacy group designed to encourage and recognize individuals who during their lifetime, or through a testamentary provision, name Cape Ann Animal Aid as a beneficiary in their will or estate plan. Sandy Mitchell passed away in 2007 and was a longtime friend and Board Member of Cape Ann Animal Aid.
Those who knew Sandy might remember her as a “rough winged angel” with a huge heart. Sandy named Cape Ann Animal Aid in her will to leave a lasting legacy by continuing to provide for the animals she so loved during lifetime. Naming the Circle in Sandy's honor was a natural fit to honor her legacy and encourage others to do as she did. Executive Director, Sunniva Buck, a close friend of Sandy recalls, “Sandy believed that people could change and do the right thing if put to the test.” And doing the right thing - to ensure and protect your passion for animals when you are no longer able to - is what the Sandy Mitchell Circle of Friends is all about.
JOIN THE SANDY MITCHELL CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
With a simple provision in your existing will or by including one in a new estate plan, you, like Sandy — Cape Ann's “rough winged angel”— can become an “angel” yourself! Learn more about planned giving. Your signature on a confidential “Letter of Intent for your Legacy Gift” is all that is required to become a member of the Sandy Mitchell Circle of Friends.
If you have already designated Cape Ann Animal Aid as a beneficiary, we welcome you to contact us so that we can thank you for your gift and recognize you as a circle member. In doing so, you will be listed in some of Cape Ann Animal Aid print/online publications. In addition, you will be treated to special events (shelter tours/receptions) and will receive future mailings from the shelter.
